Ryder Hesjedal capped off his winter training season on Maui with a motivational attempt at breaking the speed record up the Haleakala Crater, set in 1993 by Jonathan Vaughters. It should be noted that Ryder's attempts were done out of the official Haleakala Summit race - 'Cycle to the Sun' .
