Before You Begin
- Before you install Garmin Express™, make sure your computer meets the system requirements.
- If you plan to use your Garmin Index smart scale on carpet, press one of the four risers onto each foot of the scale to ensure the most accurate weight and body composition measurements.
- On the underside of the scale, slide the units selector switch to your preferred unit of measure.
- You can invite up to 15 other people to use your scale by sending invitations from your Garmin Connect account. Each invitee must also have a Garmin Connect account. Once a user accepts the invitation, that person can start using the scale.
Install Batteries
Remove the battery cover of your Garmin Index smart scale and insert 4AA batteries. With the batteries in place, the scale will display a 
icon on the screen, and the 
icons will blink.
Download and Install
On your computer, download the latest version of Garmin Express™. When the download is finished, click the file to install Garmin Express on your computer.

Plug In the ANT Stick
With the Garmin Express application open, plug the ANT™ Stick into your computer’s USB port. To set up your Index Smart Scale™ on a computer, you will need an ANT Stick. If you do not have an ANT Stick, you can set up your device using a smartphone, or you can purchase an ANT Stick.
With the Garmin Express application open, plug the ANT Stick into your computer’s USB port.
Add Device
Select 
to add a device and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
