Before You Begin
- If you plan to use your Garmin Index smart scale on carpet, press one of the four risers onto each foot of the scale to ensure the most accurate weight and body composition measurements.
- On the underside of the scale, slide the units selector switch to your preferred unit of measure.
- You can invite up to 15 other people to use your scale by sending invitations from your Garmin Connect account. Each invitee must also have a Garmin Connect account. Once a user accepts the invitation, that person can start using the scale.

Install Batteries
Remove the battery cover of your Garmin Index smart scale and insert 4AA batteries. With the batteries in place, the scale will display a 
icon on the screen, and the 
icons will blink.

Connect Router
Press the WPS button and/or enable WPS on your Internet router to connect the router to your scale. To learn how to use the WPS feature on your router, please refer to your router's documentation.

Check Status
If your scale has successfully connected to your router, you should see a solid icon on the scale's display. You will also see a 
icon on the far right side of the scale's display until you link your scale to your Garmin Connect™ account.

Set Up
Once the router is connected to your scale, you'll need to link your Garmin Connect account to your scale.
